Manufacturers and retailers exchange product information globally through a network, named GDSN (Global Data Synchronisation Network), consisting of gateways, named Data pools. A manufacturer such as General Mills or Nestlé connects to a GDSN data pool to publish its products information to the retailers such as Walmart or Loblaws also connected through a GDSN data pool. The network messaging and data model are defined by GS1 standards.
The following figure describes the process.
Viagenie's Global Data Gateway, as a certified GDSN data pool, is connected to the GDSN and offers to manufacturers and retailers the capability to connect to this network, in order to publish or receive product information, respectively.
If you are a manufacturer or a retailer interested in connecting to this network, please contact us (info@viagenie.ca) for more information.
